Non-Executive DirectorProf. Francis Chukwuemeka Ezeonu holds dual Professorial appointments in the Dept. of Applied Biochemistry and Dept. of Drugs and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He is active in teaching and research and is well published, with high reputation and visibility in his profession nationally and internationally. One of his studies, published in Environmental Toxicology and Water Quality (Canada) in 1996, is cited as one of the Scientific Supporting Documents adopted for Nitrate Quality Guidelines in Canada. In 2010 he was appointed as the only African scientist in a 31-member Joint FAO/WHO Independent International Expert Committee on Bisphenol A. He is trained on leadership decision making at Harvard University J.F. Kennedy School of Government, Boston, U.S.A (2012). He has held several leadership positions in his University, pioneered the establishment of three directorates and served on two occasions as a member of the University Council. Prof. Ezeonu was the foundation Vice-Chancellor of Hezekiah University, Umudi (2015–2016), the first private University in Imo State, and pioneered, nurtured and supervised the take-off of the University. In 2017 he was appointed by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a Resident Electoral Commissioner at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and between 2017 and 2022 administered and supervised the activities of INEC in Imo State. In 2019, he was appointed member of an Inter-Ministerial Working Group on the harmonisation of the National Bioethics Framework and Policy documents for Nigeria, where he chaired the Technical Working Group on Agricultural Ethics. In 2023, he was appointed member of the National Bioethics Committee. Emeka is a turnaround specialist, skilled in evaluating complex issues, identifying key elements, creating effective action plans, and delivering value.
